Bio
Designer Carrie B. Mitchum began sewing at the age of 7; it was her grandmother Clara Bell Moore who originally taught Carrie how to sew. Design and fashion has always been the center of Carrie’s life therfore to further her education she went to Marymount University in Arlington, VA majoring in Fashion Merchandising.
The design aspect of the fashion industry came naturally to Carrie, so by studying merchandising she obtained knowledge about the business aspect of the industry. After college Carrie worked as a buyer and manager for a small high end children’s boutique based out of Baltimore, MD. It was there that Carrie learned the ins and outs of running a business. Just a year and half later she opened a dress boutique named Remember When Boutique in Federal Hill, MD with husband and partner Preston Mitchum, Jr.
In October 2008 Carrie launched the clothing line RWB by Carrie B., great success landed her in Lucky magazine and The Washington Examiner as a standout local designer.
Carrie’s style is very much vintage inspired, “I like pieces that make me feel powerful, put together and timeless all at once,” says Carrie. Throw back details are what makes her pieces so timeless and sophisticated.
